President - Robyn Shumaker I was introduced to the Gallery Calorie event and the ladies from Artemis Charitable Foundation 2 years ago and was hooked right from the beginning. I joined Artemis in 2008. Being part of such and amazing group of women and being able to make a positive impact in the community is truly inspiring. Making a difference has always been very important to me, and being a part of Artemis has given me the chance to do just that.Vice-President - Shauna OakleyNew to the city, I was looking for volunteer opportunities that would make a positive impact, while reflecting the values and philosophies that I believe in. I attended the New Members Night, and instantly knew it was the kind of organization and people I wanted to be involved with and joined. Not only was being an active member an immensely fulfilling experience - it also broadened my social network in Calgary to fabulous friends who share in my values and interests. And - the best part is that the effects of our donations will continue to be beneficial to the organizations we help long after the events have passed!
Past President - Tanis Borbridge I was introduced to Artemis Charitable Foundation in 2007 and it is amazing how quickly it became an important part of my life—so much so that I joined the Board in 2008. I truly believe in Artemis’ mandate of contributing to the community by supporting grass-roots organizations that benefit women and children. As a Mom, I feel it is important to instill in my children through my own actions that we have a responsibility to give back to our community. I have made some wonderful friendships that I am truly thankful for and am inspired by what we accomplish as a group. Past Vice-President - Janeen ScottI discovered Artemis when my friend Sandy, a board member at the time, encouraged me to volunteer for Gallery Calorie. After volunteering for the event I knew this was an organization I wanted to be a part of. The women who join Artemis are diverse and inspirational. I’m proud to work along side them as we strive to make a difference in our community.
When not volunteering with Artemis, I work as an Human Resource Advisor with Enerflex System Ltd and volunteer with the Calgary Public Library as a Career Coach. Treasurer - Danielle Simoneau I discovered Artemis when my friend Shauna (who is now the VP) volunteered for the organization last year. After attending the event last year and thoroughly enjoying it, I decided that I would like to find out more about the organization itself. Shauna explained that the organization’s main mission is to help raise money for new charitable organizations with the drive to support women and children. This was a mission that I found inspiring and I wanted to get more involved. I am proud to working along side a group of vibrate and entertaining women and I’m looking forward to the event this year!
When I’m not volunteering with Artemis, I work as a Manager of Risk and Internal Audit with Mancal Corporation.
